We can deliver Dr Bike sessions and bicycle maintenance classes at your workplace, school or event in Leeds. All our mechanics are qualified to either City and Guilds Level 2 or EAL Level 2 (equivalent of Cytech). Our four lead maintenance tutors are accredited by Cycling UK to deliver their Basic and Advanced courses.
Dr Bike
We can send one mechanic on a bike with a trailer of kit to set up a stall and carry out a check followed by basic repairs/ adjustments to the bikes of whoever turns up. We can also provide a sign up sheet in advance, if you would prefer to give people the option to book a slot with Dr Bike. If the bike requires more attention than what we can provide on the spot then we will recommend that the owner books it in for repair at our workshop or another bike shop in Leeds, or that they attend one of the drop-in repair workshops at Pedallers’ Arms and learn how to do it themselves.
The rates below are for requests within 3 miles of Leeds City Centre; if your location is further afield we will need to charge an additional fee (£30) for travel time.
Corporate: £95 for first hour, £55 for each hour thereafter. Public/ third sector: £70 for first hour, £40 for each thereafter, including basic consumables (cables, brake pads etc.).
We can send a second mechanic for a further cost, enabling more bikes to be seen to within the time booked. This will be charged at £55/hour for corporate bookings and £40/hour for public/third sector.
Community organisations: please contact us to discuss.

Maintenance Classes
Learning bicycle mechanics together is a fantastic team building exercise. We can tailor our training to meet the needs of your group of colleagues, volunteers, or service users. Whether you want to get prepared for a group cycle, encourage day-to-day cycling or just get started on the basics, we can help.
One tutor can deliver a class for up to 6 participants. The minimum class length is 2 hours and this would cover the M-check, bike set up, adjusting brakes, adjusting gears, and replacing brake pads, with the opportunity to ask specific questions. A 2 hour class with 6 people would primarily be discussion and demonstration; for a more hands-on class the length would need to increase or the number of participants decrease. Please note bicycles for participants to practise on are not included in this service; they must be brought by the participants or supplied by the venue.
We can send a mechanic on a bike with a trailer of kit to any location within 3 miles of Leeds City Centre for the rates below. If your location is further afield then additional travel fees will apply.
Pricing: Please contact us to discuss. These courses are tailored made and the price reflects this. We offer a discount for public/third sector.
We are currently running funded basic and intermediate courses , if you would like to block book one of these please contact us to arrange.
