• Get a free bike from West Yorkshire Combined Authority (conditions apply).
• Several volunteer-led projects often have low cost bikes available, eg. Emmaus charity and Seacroft Active Travel Hub.
• No space to store a bike at home? Hire a bike by the minute from Leeds City Bikes.
• Leeds Uni and Leeds Beckett students and staff can hire a hybrid bike (including accessories) at low cost for 3 months.
Maintain your bike

• Improve your bike maintenance skills at one of our free bike maintenance courses.
• Get help with fixing your bike at the Pedallers Arms bike repair workshop. If cost is a barrier, ask about our £40 vouchers.

• Improve your confidence with a free lesson with Cycle North. From first time riders to daily commuters.
• Join a led ride this summer. We’ll be running a series of short led rides to help you explore safe cycling routes in Leeds. Keep an eye on our events page for upcoming rides and other events!
• Join a local cycling group – we’ve heard nice things about Seacroft Wheelers, Bramley Wheelers and Leeds Cycling Campaign. (Please tell us about other local friendly cycle groups!)
• Explore more local offers on the Active Leeds website, including social rides, inclusive cycling, women only rides and more!
Walk more

• Try walking 20 minutes a day with these tips and ideas from walking charity Living Streets.
• Join in on a led walk! In collaboration with Touchstone, we’ll be running a series of countryside walks this year. Keep an eye on our events page for upcoming events.
• Check out the Walk it Ride it website – this is focused on East Leeds but links to a range of great walking and cycling resources across the whole of Leeds.
• Get support with walking more by visiting during our open hours or one of our Weekend Drop-in events.
